An organization focused on innovation in population health is seeking a Biomedical Data Science Specialist to join a multidisciplinary team supporting data science initiatives involving the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS), Adult Needs and Strengths Assessment (ANSA), and Family Advocacy and Support Tool (FAST).

The team supports innovative translational research focused on the implementation and evaluation of children’s systems of care with agencies and jurisdictions across the globe. The role combines data science, statistical analysis, machine learning, software development, and research support to help organizations derive meaningful insights from complex datasets.

The organization is seeking a Data Science Specialist to provide data science and engineering support for research and technology initiatives. This role will contribute to data analysis, statistical and machine learning applications, software development, data mining, and the creation of scalable AI solutions.

The successful candidate will collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and multidisciplinary research teams to solve complex problems, develop data-driven solutions, and support multiple research projects while working within established time and budget requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the interpretation of analytical results and contribute to technical reports and presentations.
• Prepare tables, graphics, and software tool components using statistical, biostatistical, and machine learning capabilities.
• Organize and structure data for analysis and summarize findings for internal and external reports.
• Participate in multiple assigned research projects while working within defined time and budget constraints.
• Implement methodologies and approaches for solving data-related problems with appropriate guidance.
• Write clean, high-performance, high-quality, and maintainable code.
• Discover, analyze, structure, and mine data to identify useful insights and patterns.
• Contribute to the design and development of new software functionalities.
• Maintain and enhance existing software components and data-related systems.
• Collaborate with data scientists and data engineers to implement scalable AI solutions for complex problems.
• Maintain existing architectural documentation and create new documentation as required.
• Support the development and improvement of data-driven tools and solutions for population health research.
• Contribute to innovative translational research initiatives involving children’s systems of care.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational background.
• Experience working with data science, data analysis, statistical analysis, or related technical disciplines.
• Knowledge of statistical, biostatistical, and machine learning methodologies.
• Experience discovering, analyzing, structuring, and mining datasets.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and high-quality code.
• Understanding of software development principles and data engineering practices.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with data scientists, data engineers, researchers, and other multidisciplinary professionals.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while working within established timelines and budgets.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn and apply new methodologies and technologies to solve complex problems.
