Responsibilities
- Lead customer discovery and architecture: Conduct technical discovery sessions with customers to understand their workflows, information architecture, and integration requirements.
- Design scalable integrations: Develop integration solutions using APIs and connectors that meet customer needs while maintaining performance, security, and reliability.
- Support customer co-development: Work alongside customer engineering teams, remotely or on-site, to provide real-time technical guidance during integration development.
- Build trusted customer relationships: Establish strong working relationships with customer technical teams and serve as a reliable partner throughout the integration lifecycle.
- Provide technical support: Answer integration questions, troubleshoot issues, debug implementations, and help resolve problems discovered after launch.
- Improve integration infrastructure: Collaborate with the Integrations Engineering team to develop and maintain RESTful APIs, connectors, API endpoints, and integration tools.
- Support enterprise implementations: Partner with program management teams to plan and deliver large-scale customer deployments, including statewide implementations.
- Coordinate cross-functional work: Assist Program Management, Customer Support, Sales, and other internal teams with technical questions, project updates, and customer integration requirements.
- Communicate product feedback: Gather customer insights and translate them into actionable recommendations for improving platform modules and integration capabilities.
- Champion security and privacy: Apply security best practices and help safeguard sensitive information, including supporting requirements relevant to HIPAA compliance.
- Manage projects independently: Plan and prioritize technical work, balance competing customer needs, and deliver integration projects in dynamic environments.
- Explore emerging technologies: Evaluate opportunities to use generative AI and other relevant technologies to improve integration workflows and customer outcomes.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in a customer-facing role such as integration engineering or technical consulting.
- Experience architecting, building, and maintaining distributed systems and software integrations.
- Familiarity with APIs, data pipelines, extract-transform-load (ETL) processes, and enterprise data warehouses.
- Ability to work with legacy systems and navigate the technical constraints commonly found in government environments.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan work, manage time, and take ownership of deliverables.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with product, program management, sales, customer support, and engineering teams.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Comfort working in startup environments with ambiguity, evolving requirements, and iterative product development.
- Ability to balance rapid delivery with security, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
