Responsibilities

  • Design, build, launch, and maintain a connected reporting suite supporting executive, portfolio, pipeline, workload, schedule, budget, risk, and service-performance reporting.
  • Develop and improve intake and workflow tools that capture project requests, support triage, track actions and decisions, and provide visibility from incoming requests through completion.
  • Build solutions within the approved technology environment using connected forms, spreadsheets, scripts, internal sites, and visualization tools.
  • Use large language models and AI-assisted development tools to accelerate solution design, generate and refine scripts, troubleshoot formulas, document logic, and automate repetitive tasks.
  • Apply appropriate human review, testing, version control, and secure data-handling practices before deploying AI-assisted solutions.
  • Automate data collection, quality checks, approvals, status updates, notifications, data refreshes, and recurring reporting workflows wherever practical.
  • Translate program and portfolio data into clear, actionable dashboards and visualizations that support leadership decisions and improve visibility into project requests and delivery.
  • Develop user guides, data dictionaries, and support documentation; train users and establish practical maintenance and handoff processes.
  • Monitor usage and recurring pain points to identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.
  • Prototype AI-assisted enhancements within approved technology and security guidelines.
  • Maintain a reusable library of prompts, code patterns, scripts, and technical documentation for the Data Solutions team.
  • Perform workload and team management activities, including QA/QC, fee proposals, and task management.
  • Reconcile invoices and change orders with general contractors, subcontractors, and third parties.
  • Perform value analysis and support project-related decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships to support client satisfaction.
  • Provide reports and information requested by senior management and respond to business inquiries.
  • Mentor estimating technicians and estimators while supporting training related to construction technology and project divisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Strong proficiency in at least one data visualization platform, with an understanding of data visualization and information-design principles.
  • Working proficiency in Google Apps Script or JavaScript, along with SQL and Python or a comparable scripting language for data preparation, automation, testing, and integration.
  • Experience defining data models, data dictionaries, validation rules, and repeatable data refresh and quality-control processes.
  • Demonstrated experience using large language models or AI coding assistants to generate, review, test, troubleshoot, and document production scripts and workflow automations.
  • Familiarity with prompt design, structured outputs, API integration, or retrieval-based solutions is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical decisions and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand contracts and specifications and review construction schedules.
