Company Overview
A generative media technology company is building infrastructure, tools, and model access that enable teams to develop and scale AI-powered products. Its platform brings together high-performance inference, orchestration, and observability to support the development of next-generation generative media applications.

Summary
The Senior Software Engineer, Data will build data infrastructure that provides visibility into cost, margins, usage, and infrastructure performance. The role sits at the intersection of software and data engineering, working closely with infrastructure, data, and product engineering teams to instrument production systems, build ingestion pipelines, and create reliable analytical foundations.

Responsibilities

  • Instrument core infrastructure to capture CPU, GPU, and request-level signals while working closely with infrastructure teams to safely implement changes.
  • Build ingestion pipelines from partner APIs, compute vendors, and internal services into BigQuery and low-latency analytical platforms such as ClickHouse.
  • Design and operate ETL infrastructure supporting cost, margin, usage, and infrastructure analytics.
  • Develop lightweight, low-latency data pathways that enable analytics-grade telemetry for data and product engineering teams.
  • Partner with infrastructure, data, and product engineering teams to establish data contracts and instrumentation standards.
  • Connect operational systems with the company’s analytical infrastructure and help create durable, observable data systems.
  • Support teams by providing reliable data foundations for analytics and decision-making.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer or data engineer, with a strong software engineering background using Python, Go, or similar languages.
  • Experience safely deploying code into critical production infrastructure.
  • Understanding of database performance, query patterns, and production incident risks.
  • Hands-on experience building data ingestion pipelines into warehouses such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift.
  • Experience with low-latency analytical databases such as ClickHouse, Druid, Pinot, or similar technologies.
  • Strong SQL skills and working knowledge of dbt and orchestration tools such as Dagster, Airflow, or Prefect.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across infrastructure, product engineering, and data teams.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into reliable and maintainable technical systems.
  • Comfortable working in fast-moving and ambiguous environments.
  • Experience with GPU, accelerator, or other infrastructure-intensive workloads is a plus.
  • Exposure to FinOps or cloud infrastructure cost modeling is advantageous.
  • Experience with developer-facing API products or technology platforms is a plus.
  • Experience working at an early-stage or rapidly scaling startup is advantageous.
