The organization is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to help build a data-driven culture by solving complex product and business challenges using advanced analytics and machine learning. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to influence strategic decisions, develop production-grade data science solutions, and drive innovation through data.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping data science initiatives across multiple business domains, mentoring team members, collaborating with stakeholders, and building scalable internal data products that improve decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Shape the direction of strategic data science initiatives, including customer segmentation, recommendation systems, forecasting, product analytics, churn prediction, and business insights.
• Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Sales, and Customer Success teams to understand product usage patterns and deliver data-driven recommendations.
• Manage stakeholder relationships by gathering requirements, defining project objectives and milestones, and communicating analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Mentor and guide junior data scientists through project planning, technical decision-making, code reviews, and best practices.
• Champion a data-driven culture by representing the data science function across the organization.
• Design and build self-service internal data products that simplify access to business insights.
• Represent the organization at academic and industry conferences and events.
• Contribute to the continuous advancement of scalable machine learning and analytics capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics within high-growth technology organizations.
• Extensive experience developing and deploying end-to-end data science and machine learning solutions for business applications.
• Strong understanding of product data science, including customer behavior analysis, adoption metrics, churn, cohort analysis, segmentation, and funnel analytics.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and other business functions.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or similar general-purpose programming languages.
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including testing, code reviews, and deployment.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization using Python, R, or similar analytical tools.
• Experience working with distributed data processing technologies such as Apache Spark.
• Advanced SQL proficiency for large-scale data analysis.
• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Economics, Operational Research, Engineering, or another quantitative discipline.
