Company Overview
A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Senior Data Quality Engineer to strengthen its enterprise data governance, data quality, and data management capabilities. The organization is focused on establishing trusted, high-quality data through scalable technology solutions, strong governance practices, and advanced data engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex data pipelines, curated data structures, and enterprise data products.
- Provide technical consultation and support to data engineers in designing, developing, and implementing data movement processes.
- Collaborate with organizational leaders and users to create, test, and implement complex data stores and pipelines based on business requirements.
- Research, develop roadmaps for, and maintain enterprise data modeling, DevOps, and development tools and processes.
- Explore and implement emerging technologies to improve development and operational efficiency.
- Perform analysis, development, and testing of complex data marts with minimal supervision.
- Support data engineers in developing high-quality data solutions and encourage the adoption of data-driven decision-making.
- Apply advanced knowledge of data domains to develop reliable and high-quality enterprise solutions.
- Build strong working relationships with users, team members, directors, and senior stakeholders.
- Participate as a technical data steward in metadata management, data quality, and other data governance activities.
- Identify, investigate, and help resolve data quality issues.
- Manage multiple complex activities, including tasks, dependencies, project scope, and delivery timelines.
- Provide project leadership and management support to drive project timelines and deliverables across multiple departments.
- Participate in project working groups involving engineers, users, analysts, clinicians, and organizational leadership.
- Lead teams in defining design and development standards and conduct peer reviews to ensure compliance.
- Define analytics standards and best practices while supporting business analysts in training and adoption.
- Participate in analytics community meetings and contribute to enterprise analytics initiatives.
- Optimize the performance of complex data solutions.
- Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and establish countermeasures to improve supported solutions.
- Help advance enterprise data governance capabilities, including data quality management and master data management.
- Develop scalable solutions that support metadata management, data lineage, access control, and policy enforcement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Management, Business Analytics, Business Administration, or a directly related field from an accredited college or university.
- 7+ years of experience in reporting, analytics, business intelligence, or healthcare technology; or
- 3+ years of development experience with cloud data lake technologies, including PySpark notebooks or pipelines on Databricks, utilizing DevOps, CI/CD, and orchestration processes.
- Advanced knowledge of relational database concepts and database design.
- Advanced data modeling skills with the ability to translate business requirements into logical and physical database designs for moderate to large complex projects.
- Experience developing solutions on cloud data platforms such as Azure and Databricks.
- Experience with technologies such as PySpark, notebooks, GitHub, and related development tools.
- Expert knowledge of SQL.
- Ability to work with and relate data across multiple data domains.
- Advanced knowledge of development and design tools and general DevOps concepts and practices.
- Ability to tune the performance of moderately complex solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully complete complex projects.
- Ability to communicate moderately complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences, including senior managers and industry groups.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Understanding of enterprise data governance principles and practices.
- Ability to identify data quality issues and contribute to their resolution.
- Ability to manage project tasks, dependencies, timelines, and stakeholder expectations
