A leading technology organization is building an advanced agentic data science and analytics platform designed to help organizations leverage artificial intelligence to improve data-driven decision-making. The organization is expanding its AI Engineering function and is seeking an experienced leader to accelerate product innovation, develop AI engineering capabilities, and build a world-class team of AI Engineers.

The organization is looking for an AI Engineering Lead to define the future of AI Engineering while working closely with product and engineering teams. The role will focus on leveraging frontier AI technologies and techniques to expand product capabilities, deliver high-performing shared AI infrastructure, and create meaningful value for customers.

The successful candidate will combine strong people leadership with deep technical knowledge of modern AI and classical machine learning systems. The role requires someone who can balance rigorous experimentation with early-stage agility while fostering collaboration, innovation, and exceptional engineering and research experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Stay current with the latest developments in artificial intelligence and collaborate with engineering teams to advance product capabilities.
• Define and implement the future direction of the AI Engineering function as the organization scales.
• Hire, develop, mentor, and retain an exceptional team of AI Engineers.
• Build and support an outstanding developer and research experience for teams working with AI technologies.
• Deliver high-performing shared AI infrastructure, including advanced search systems.
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to identify opportunities for applying emerging AI technologies.
• Drive AI initiatives that produce measurable business outcomes and meaningful customer value.
• Establish effective engineering practices for experimentation, evaluation, and deployment of AI systems.
• Foster a high-performance culture centered on technical excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience managing people and leading high-performing teams.
• Deep familiarity with modern AI technologies and classical machine learning systems.
• Strong understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and transformer-based models.
• Experience with agentic workflows, context management, and agentic evaluation systems.
• Demonstrated ability to share technical knowledge and develop the capabilities of others.
• Strong business orientation with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes and customer value.
• Ability to balance rigorous experimental design with the speed and flexibility required in an early-stage environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across different functions and technical teams.
• Demonstrated ability to attract, develop, and retain exceptional AI engineering talent.
