The organization is seeking an AI Engineering Consultant to build and integrate AI applications using leading model providers and cloud platforms. The role focuses on developing LLM-powered applications, APIs, and pipelines while implementing retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt orchestration, evaluation, and guardrails. The successful candidate will also deploy and operationalize AI workloads with a focus on scalability, security, cost efficiency, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and integrate AI applications using leading model providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic.
• Develop AI solutions across cloud platforms including AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, and Google Vertex AI.
• Implement LLM application patterns including RAG, prompt orchestration, evaluation, and guardrails.
• Develop LLM-powered applications, APIs, and data pipelines for production environments.
• Deploy and operationalize AI workloads on cloud infrastructure with consideration for scalability, security, cost efficiency, and reliability.
• Use Python, API integrations, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain and LlamaIndex to develop production-ready solutions.
• Apply modern DevOps practices throughout the AI delivery lifecycle.
• Use containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Implement CI/CD processes and cloud security best practices.
• Collaborate with Resources and Utilities organizations to develop practical AI and data solutions.
• Travel as required based on business needs and client requirements, potentially ranging from 0% to 80%.

Required Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in software engineering or AI/ML engineering.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience building AI applications using platforms or providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, or Google Vertex AI.
• At least 2 years of experience with Python and API integration.
• At least 2 years of experience with RAG, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• At least 1 year of experience with containerization technologies, including Docker or Kubernetes.
• At least 1 year of experience with CI/CD and cloud security practices.
• At least 1 year of experience serving utilities clients in electric, gas, or water industries, or experience in utilities finance, controllership, or regulatory functions.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a minimum of 12 years of work experience where applicable.
• An Associate’s degree may be considered with a minimum of 6 years of equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Cloud or AI engineering certifications from AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google.
• Experience implementing agentic AI patterns.
• Experience with multi-agent orchestration.
• Strong understanding of modern AI engineering practices and production AI deployments.
