The AI & Data Decision Science Consultant – Utilities Ind & Func will leverage advanced analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence technologies to develop decision-making systems. The role requires a strong analytical mindset, technical expertise, and the ability to communicate complex findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The successful candidate will contribute to innovative data and AI solutions while helping organizations address business challenges and achieve measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in delivering Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Analytics initiatives and programs.
  • Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams to execute projects effectively.
  • Bridge business and technical domains for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage with business and analytics stakeholders to understand requirements and build strong relationships.
  • Support the sales process by contributing to solution development for Data Science and Machine Learning opportunities.
  • Develop and customize Data Science, Machine Learning, AI, and Analytics models and solutions for industry- and function-specific business challenges.
  • Collaborate across organizational networks and partner with strategy, consulting, and technology teams throughout sales and delivery processes.
  • Identify AI use cases by understanding organizational goals and areas of need.
  • Develop business cases, determine potential return on investment, and create transformation roadmaps for AI initiatives.
  • Advise organizations on the adoption of responsible AI solutions and governance.
  • Train users on new processes and solutions while supporting implementation and ongoing maintenance.
  • Track results and communicate the value achieved through AI and analytics initiatives.
  • Bring innovative ideas and approaches to client projects.
  • Travel as needed based on client expectations, with the ability to travel up to 80%.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Advanced Analytics.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience building decision-based frameworks and models to generate insights.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience serving utilities clients, including electric, gas, or water organizations, or experience within a utilities finance, controllership, or regulatory function.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, including a minimum of 12 years of work experience.
  • For candidates with an Associate’s degree, a minimum of 6 years of equivalent work experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing data-driven solutions.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working with AI-native and cloud platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark.
  • Knowledge of agent-based modeling, reinforcement learning, and autonomous systems.
  • Familiarity with data visualization platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Strong program management and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to introduce innovative ideas and approaches to projects.
  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
