An organization is seeking a Senior Consultant – Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) – Databricks to work closely with clients in designing, building, and deploying AI-enabled applications and data solutions. This role combines software engineering, data engineering, and client-facing delivery responsibilities to help organizations transform artificial intelligence opportunities into scalable business solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with client stakeholders to define business needs, operational constraints, priority use cases, and measurable success criteria.
  • Design, build, and integrate AI-enabled applications, APIs, machine learning models, data pipelines, and microservices tailored to client environments.
  • Utilize AI-assisted development workflows to accelerate solution delivery while maintaining quality, security, and maintainability.
  • Lead implementation activities required for production deployment, including architecture, security, privacy, and access reviews.
  • Troubleshoot technical and integration challenges while optimizing performance across Databricks and cloud-based enterprise environments.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into business value for client stakeholders.
  • Support the deployment and scaling of AI-powered solutions addressing business and technology challenges.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, data science, analytics engineering, or technical delivery roles.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or comparable services.
  • 1+ years of experience with Databricks, including hands-on experience with technologies such as DBRX, MLflow, Vector Search, or Databricks AI Gateway.
  • 1+ years of experience leading project workstreams or client engagements.
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying AI, Generative AI, or Large Language Model (LLM)-powered solutions in production environments.
  • Demonstrated proficiency developing production-grade software using AI-assisted development tools while maintaining engineering best practices.
  • Experience presenting, defending, and refining technical architectures with stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% based on project and client requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting anti-money laundering (AML), fraud prevention, financial crime, investigations, or compliance technology initiatives.
  • Experience with Spark, Airflow, dbt, streaming technologies, data modeling, feature engineering, experimentation, or model evaluation.
  • Experience with Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) or Large Language Model Operations (LLMOps).
  • Experience integrating LLM-powered solutions with enterprise systems through APIs, microservices, or event-driven architectures.
  • Experience delivering software within enterprise security, privacy, and compliance frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of modern LLM capabilities, including tool calling, structured outputs, model evaluation, and the trade-offs between generative and deterministic approaches.
