About the Role
The Staff Software Engineer (Real-time Data Platform) will lead strategy, architecture, development, and operations for the company’s data and AI platforms. This role is critical in influencing data-driven decision-making, guiding technical excellence, and mentoring a high-performing team to deliver scalable and innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Identify and resolve company-wide challenges using advanced data platform solutions
Provide technical leadership and visionary direction across the data platform, balancing hands-on problem-solving with architectural strategy
Advocate for best practices in data platform development and AI/ML integration
Mentor engineers and scientists, fostering both technical growth and professional development
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, reliable, and efficient data infrastructure
Drive adoption of modern data and AI frameworks and technologies
Minimum Qualifications
8+ years of experience in Data Platform or equivalent combination of work and academic exposure in a quantitative field
Proven experience leading multi-team initiatives and influencing technology roadmap planning
Ability to balance execution speed with rigorous research, statistical insight, and scalable design
Experience in mentoring engineers and technical staff
Proficiency in designing, deploying, and maintaining large-scale, multi-geography data pipelines
Familiarity with workflow and orchestration frameworks such as Airflow, DBT, etc.
Strong collaboration and communication skills with diverse stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with modern Lakehouse architecture and large-scale data processing patterns
Experience designing standard framework modules, high-performance services, and client libraries for big data (GCP, Databricks, BigQuery, DataProc, Kafka, Kubernetes, Spark, DataFlow, Google Cloud Storage, Airflow)
Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to evaluate emerging technologies and conduct proof-of-concepts to guide architecture decisions
Experience thriving in complex, fast-paced environments
