Summary
The VP of Engineering will lead the creation of a new AI-driven platform, transforming how life sciences companies manage safety, regulatory, and clinical development. This role involves building and growing the engineering organization from the ground up, setting processes, defining team culture, and delivering a product that leverages AI innovatively to solve meaningful problems.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, mentor, and inspire a high-performing engineering team of individual contributors
  • Define and establish development processes with a focus on AI tooling, agility, and efficiency
  • Take end-to-end ownership of product delivery, aligning with product stakeholders on priorities and feature delivery
  • Act as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to senior management, driving alignment and informed decisions
  • Build a culture of accountability, innovation, and strong engineering discipline
  • Deliver live product experiences to customers within the first year while growing and scaling the team

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of software engineering management experience with agile commercial software development
  • Strong technical background, ideally with Python and cloud-native enterprise applications
  • Proven experience building AI-powered products and applying AI to accelerate engineering productivity
  • Demonstrated success in hiring, mentoring, and leading high-performing teams
  • Ability to navigate ambiguous, high-stakes environments and deliver results
  • Expertise in object-oriented design, application development tools, APIs, and cloud-native platforms
  • Dynamic leadership and mentorship skills, motivating teams to take ownership and achieve excellence
  • Candidates located in Eastern, Central, or Mountain Time zones preferred
  • Must have unrestricted right to work in the United States; no sponsorship provided
