Summary
The Data Science Manager will lead the technical design, development, and deployment of AI and GenAI solutions for healthcare and life sciences clients. This role combines leadership, technical expertise, and client engagement to deliver innovative analytics solutions that address complex business challenges across diagnostics, hospital operations, and other clinical and non-clinical applications.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead on projects, defining AI/ML strategy, roadmap, and prototyping solutions to meet client requirements
  • Engage with healthcare clients to guide AI strategy and adoption, including exploratory data analysis, model building, validation, and production deployment
  • Lead interdisciplinary teams of data scientists, engineers, and solution architects to achieve delivery objectives and performance targets
  • Research and implement best practices for model validation, deployment, code review, unit testing, and integration testing
  • Present findings and solution options to key stakeholders, including deployment infrastructure and technical recommendations
  • Mentor and coach junior data scientists, promoting technical excellence and professional development

Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related STEM field
  • 6+ years of experience in data science, AI/ML development, software engineering, or MLOps
  • 6+ years of experience in AI/ML workflows and data analysis across modalities including NLP, computer vision, time-series, and graph models
  • 6+ years of experience with programming languages and data science tools (Python, Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Jupyter)
  • 6+ years of experience with traditional ML and deep learning techniques (CNNs, RNNs, LSTMs, GANs), including model tuning and validation
  • 4+ years of experience managing teams and delivering complex projects
  • Ability to travel ~10% based on client and project requirements
  • Preferred: experience with cloud deployment (AWS, Azure, GCP), GenAI solutions for healthcare, and client-facing roles
  • Must live within commuting distance to the Boston office; limited immigration sponsorship may be available
