Position Summary
The Senior Engineering Manager Conversational AI will lead and mentor high-performing engineering teams focused on voice and chat bot solutions. This role is responsible for delivering top-quality software products, guiding teams through all software development phases, and collaborating across functions to meet evolving business needs. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership experience in cloud-based software and conversational AI technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee digital engineering projects, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and timeline
  • Shape long-term plans, technology adoption strategies, and innovation initiatives to drive digital transformation
  • Provide technical leadership, optimize development processes, and resolve engineering challenges
  • Partner with senior leadership to define and execute digital engineering strategy and roadmap aligned with business objectives
  • Contribute to solution design and architecture in collaboration with product teams, architects, and senior engineers
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify expectations, and align priorities
  • Establish and enforce quality assurance processes for high-performing, reliable solutions
  • Champion continuous improvement by refining processes and optimizing workflows
  • Lead and mentor multiple software engineering teams, fostering professional growth and team effectiveness

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience managing engineers
  • 10+ years of experience designing and building software engineering solutions in cloud environments
  • 10+ years of experience with one or more modern programming languages (Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, SQL, etc.)
  • 10+ years of experience with APIs, microservices, and modern software patterns
  • 5+ years of experience soliciting complex requirements and managing key stakeholder relationships
  • 5+ years of experience independently managing deliverables

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills to articulate technical and strategic concepts to multiple stakeholders
  • Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLM) and practical applications in conversational AI
  • Experience developing and supporting voice and text chatbots
  • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, or a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Highschool diploma plus 4 years relevant work experience)
