Position Summary
The Analytics & Behavior Change (A&BC) team is focused on transforming clinical and behavioral data into actionable insights to improve health outcomes and business performance. The Lead Decision Scientist – Patient Insights Optimization will work closely with clinical data, engineering, and product teams to drive strategic decisions and deliver measurable impact across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple analytics projects in healthcare and clinical data, ensuring high standards of rigor and execution
  • Provide technical leadership to a team of data and decision scientists, setting standards for code quality, testing, and review while remaining hands-on in analytical work
  • Define a roadmap that delivers ongoing value to stakeholders and enhances analytics engineering practices for scalable impact
  • Partner with product owners and engineering teams to design and productionize effective analytical solutions
  • Apply advanced statistical and mathematical methods to solve critical business problems
  • Communicate technical concepts and insights to diverse audiences through effective storytelling and data visualization
  • Maintain high-quality documentation of analytical work and team impact

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant analytics experience
  • Proven experience leading analytics projects from concept to delivery with multiple stakeholders
  • Knowledge of analytics engineering best practices, including version control, testing, and CI/CD
  • Strong SQL skills for building efficient, maintainable analytical pipelines
  • Experience with at least one leading cloud platform (GCP, AWS, Azure) and data governance best practices
  • Proficiency in Python and standard data science libraries (NumPy, pandas, polars)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep expertise in healthcare and clinical data, including FHIR and CCDA
  • Experience establishing engineering best practices in analytics teams
  • Familiarity with GCP tools such as BigQuery and Vertex AI
  • Hands-on experience with analytics workflow tools like dbt, Airflow, and Cloud Composer
  • Training in advanced statistics, machine learning, and optimization

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. preferred
