Company Overview
A global financial services technology organization is seeking a Director of Architecture to join its Asset Management Technology team. The group focuses on public markets trading and delivers innovative technology solutions across equities, fixed income, and derivatives. The organization provides enterprise-scale systems, integrating external platforms to optimize trading performance and operational efficiency.

The Role
The Director, Architecture will lead the design and development of robust applications and systems for public markets trading. The role involves architecting high-performance solutions, driving innovation, and providing technical guidance to ensure scalable, resilient, and efficient systems for electronic trading.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teams to design and develop applications for public markets trading, including equities, fixed income, and derivatives
  • Architect and oversee implementation of robust solutions to ensure seamless integration, resiliency, and efficient processing
  • Drive innovation and adopt new technologies to enhance system architecture and performance
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to developers, promoting best practices and maintaining code quality
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment
  • Work closely with IT product owners and business users to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Produce high-quality documentation and visuals that clearly convey system architecture to various stakeholders

Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Extensive experience in technology for public markets trading
  • Experience with third-party electronic trading solutions
  • Strong proficiency in Java, Spring, Typescript, Angular, Kafka, distributed cache, Oracle Database, AWS, and Kubernetes
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and event-driven design principles
  • Proven ability to architect and build sophisticated systems handling high transaction volumes, large-scale data processing, and real-time analytics
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering innovative solutions to complex technical challenges
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical partners
