Company Overview
A leading commercial data and analytics organization seeks a Director to drive advanced analytics across multiple commercial functions. The company focuses on transforming data-driven insights into measurable business impact by standardizing analytic products, tools, and workflows used by business teams. The role is embedded within the Customer Experience and Innovation organization, supporting cross-functional teams to accelerate commercial outcomes through predictive and prescriptive analytics.

Summary
The Director, Advanced Analytics, will lead the Business Performance & Drivers and Patient Pull-Through & Outcomes Value Teams, managing decision products that guide strategic commercial actions. This role combines technical expertise, advanced analytics, and leadership to set product standards, optimize adoption, and ensure measurable business impact across multiple commercial areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide people leadership for a small team of 2–4, including mentoring, skill development, performance coaching, and career growth planning
  • Maintain oversight of Business Performance & Drivers and Patient Pull-Through & Outcomes Value Teams, serving as the primary point of contact for leadership alignment, prioritization, and delivery commitments
  • Collaborate across multiple Value Teams to deliver reusable analytics that scale across franchises and markets
  • Own analytics product strategy and roadmap for assigned decision products, identifying high-leverage decisions and sequencing releases for maximum impact
  • Lead complex decision-product analytics embedded in core workflows such as launch readiness, competitive dynamics, account opportunity prioritization, and patient journey forecasting
  • Drive end-to-end product framing, including user definition, problem statement, hypotheses, decision points, and success metrics
  • Translate business needs into deployable analytic requirements, including segmentation logic, thresholds, triggers, measurement plans, and learning loops
  • Deliver decision-ready insights with clear storytelling and stakeholder-ready visuals, including executive-level readouts
  • Partner with AI/ML Engineering to move prototypes into production and define monitoring, retraining, and operational performance expectations
  • Partner with Data Stewardship to define single source of truth metrics, ensure traceability, and support analytics engineering using dbt-informed specifications
  • Leverage AI tooling to increase efficiency, safely using agentic AI analytics and AI-native IDEs while operating in agile delivery rhythms with Jira and GitHub

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Business, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in commercial advanced analytics or data science, ideally in healthcare or life sciences
  • Domain expertise aligned to the Value Team areas, with the ability to translate strategy into decision-product roadmaps, analytic requirements, and measurable outcomes
  • Proven leadership in team mentoring, technical skill development, and career growth support
  • Strong product-thinking and cross-functional delivery skills, including discovery, prioritization, measurement, and adoption-focused enablement
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python or R, with experience in modern analytics tooling such as Spark and dbt
  • Experience productionizing analytics and supporting monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement
  • Comfortable using AI tooling responsibly to enhance throughput and quality
  • Expertise in measurement, inference, experimentation, causal inference, uplift modeling, optimization, or advanced forecasting
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex insights to diverse audiences, including senior executives
  • Experience with Jira and git-based version control in GitHub
