Summary
The Senior Pre-Sales Applied AI Expert (Sales Engineering) serves as the technical leader in high-impact, complex opportunities. This role partners with sales teams to deliver technical discovery, architect AI solutions, execute demos, and lead proof-of-value engagements, guiding customers from pilots to production-grade AI systems with observability, governance, and controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business-to-Technical Translation: Partner with sales teams to map customer missions, priorities, and technical constraints to platform capabilities, tailoring messaging for CIOs, CTOs, Chief Data Officers, program leads, and technical practitioners.
  • Demo Execution & Use Case Framing: Deliver engaging, outcome-oriented demos for prospects and existing customers; refine use cases based on strategic alignment and customer maturity.
  • Solution Design & Deployment Readiness: Define technical requirements, recommend deployment models meeting security mandates, and advise on data readiness for fast time-to-value.
  • Compliance & Security Alignment: Support discussions around AI governance, data security, model transparency, and responsible AI in line with regulations and standards.
  • Cross-Functional Feedback Loop: Provide structured feedback on customer needs, procurement challenges, and technical blockers to Product, Marketing, and Enablement teams.
  • Sales Collaboration: Act as a trusted advisor for Account Executives, Strategic Account Directors, and Business Development Reps by providing technical knowledge and assets to drive AI adoption.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong ability to translate GenAI and ML platform capabilities into actionable solutions
  • Proven success supporting sales pursuits (new logos and account expansion) with technical expertise
  • Excellent communication and demo skills, able to convey complex AI concepts to both technical and business stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with evolving product offerings and shifting priorities

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in customer-facing data science, pre-sales engineering, or technical consulting within software/SaaS
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, analytical, or business-related field; advanced degree a plus
  • Experience supporting AI/ML or advanced analytics sales
  • Ability to travel up to 25% for customer meetings, workshops, conferences, and events
