Senior Systems Engineer

Key Activities and Responsibilities:

As a Sr. Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing, developing, and documenting solutions to meet customer requirements while maintaining system integrity.
  • Defining optimal solutions that balance requirements, cost, schedule, and risk to meet customer needs.
  • Ensuring adherence to transversal constraints (safety, human factors, performance, security).
  • Actively participating in technical reviews, both internally and externally.
  • Collaborating in technical working groups to define solutions.
  • Contributing to PI planning and backlog refinement, including effort estimation.
  • Preparing Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Problem Change Requests (PCRs).
  • Developing and managing requirements traceability using tools like DOORS.
  • Conducting peer reviews of engineering documentation.
  • Supporting team members in software, integration, and verification.
  • Collaborating with Product Owners (POs) and Scrum Masters (SMs).
  • Recommending strategies to improve performance and productivity.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks early in the process.
  • Contributing to the planning and coordination of program integration activities.
  • Promoting knowledge sharing and reusing work across projects.
  • Providing technical oversight to teams, ensuring solutions are implemented according to design, schedule, cost, and quality constraints.
  • Defining and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Adhering to company processes and practices and contributing to their improvement.

Key Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate degree in Systems Engineering (preferred).
  • 5+ years of proven experience in Systems Engineering, including requirements, design, integration, verification, and validation.
  • Experience with Systems Engineering standards like ISO/IEC 15288.
  • Proven experience in the ATM domain and related standards (ICAO, Eurocontrol).
  • Experience in product and project development using various methodologies, with a focus on iterative/agile development.
  • Familiarity with safety, security, and human factors standards and practices.
  • Ability to achieve effective outcomes in multidisciplinary, multicultural environments.
  • Strong coaching and knowledge-sharing skills.
  • Capability to manage diverse stakeholders with varying objectives.
  • Positive attitude, excellent interpersonal, and motivational skills.
  • Comfort with complexity and sound judgment for independent decision-making.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Systems Engineering tools (DOORS, Polarian, Jira).
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and tools (Capella, Enterprise Architect).
  • Experience working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • French language proficiency.

Special Requirements:

  • Occasional international travel may be required.
