A private aerospace company focused on developing advanced space transportation systems and technologies designed to expand human access to space. Its work spans launch systems, spacecraft, satellite technology, and other engineering initiatives supporting long-term human space exploration.
Responsibilities
- Design and build a deployment generator for complex infrastructure environments.
- Create and maintain comprehensive platform documentation.
- Build and maintain the bundle pipeline used for deployment.
- Implement profile-driven rendering for public cloud, enterprise on-premises, and classified air-gapped environments based on selected deployment profiles.
- Build and maintain a cross-profile continuous integration (CI) matrix.
- Develop testing and validation frameworks to ensure deployment tooling is deterministic, complete, reliable, and well-tested.
- Integrate existing operators, Helm charts, and Kubernetes Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs) into the deployment generator without modifying production infrastructure.
- Lead the migration of the monitoring stack.
- Own and maintain the bare-metal provisioning pipeline.
- Develop tooling that enables engineering teams to reliably operate infrastructure in environments where direct support may not be available.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, computer engineering, physics, data science, or another engineering discipline.
- 1+ years of professional experience with Go and/or Python.
- 1+ years of experience working with Kubernetes or similar technologies for automating, developing, and scaling containerized applications.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret or Top Secret SCI security clearance.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using tools such as Buildkite, GitHub Actions, or equivalent platforms.
- Familiarity with container image management.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Pulumi or Terraform, including an understanding of state-management tradeoffs.
- Understanding of Linux systems and administration.
- Experience developing deployment tooling for air-gapped or disconnected environments where dependencies must be pre-staged.
- Familiarity with GPU infrastructure, including NVIDIA drivers, CUDA, NCCL, and InfiniBand/RoCE networking.
- Experience with PXE boot, cloud-init, squashfs, or other bare-metal provisioning technologies.
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when required.
- Willingness to travel to government sites, with approximately 20% travel potentially required.
- Ability to successfully obtain and maintain the required security clearance as a condition of employment.
