The organization is seeking a Founding Forward Deployed Engineer to become the first engineer dedicated to working directly with customers, revenue teams, and product teams. This role will combine software engineering, customer-facing technical work, rapid prototyping, and solution development.

The successful candidate will serve as a technical partner to revenue and product teams, building prototypes, customer integrations, demonstration tools, and repeatable solutions that help accelerate customer adoption and sales. This position provides an opportunity to work closely with company leadership while helping establish the foundation for the Forward Deployed Engineering function.

Key Responsibilities

• Build rapid prototypes and proofs of concept for prospective customers.
• Develop demonstration tools and reusable templates that accelerate the sales process.
• Conduct technical discovery sessions and scope solutions with customers.
• Implement turnkey integrations, including APIs, data pipelines, and dashboards.
• Connect the platform with customer systems and third-party tools.
• Develop customer-specific solutions and transition completed implementations to customer success teams.
• Iterate successful prototypes into repeatable reference implementations.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to communicate customer feedback and influence product development.
• Create technical documentation, playbooks, and reusable resources.
• Serve as a technical partner to revenue and product teams throughout the customer lifecycle.
• Travel occasionally for customer workshops, meetings, or on-site engagements.
• Take ownership of projects from technical discovery through implementation and handoff.

Required Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer-facing engineering, such as Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Professional Services, or Pre-Sales Engineering.
• 1+ years of experience shipping production software.
• Strong programming experience with Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with modern data stacks.
• Experience with data warehouses, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling.
• Strong software engineering skills and solid computer science fundamentals.
• Ability to translate technical concepts and tradeoffs into clear business-oriented explanations.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, cross-functional startup environments.
• Ability to take ownership of ambiguous problems and develop practical solutions quickly.
