The organization is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to serve as the analytical backbone of its product teams. This is a generalist data science role for a professional with a strong statistical foundation who can move fluidly between analysis, experimentation, and modeling while maintaining rigor in methodology and clarity in recommendations.

The successful candidate will work closely with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to translate ambiguous business and product questions into structured analysis and actionable recommendations. The role will also contribute to experimentation, predictive modeling, product metrics, and AI-powered data products that expand the reach and impact of data science across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Design teams as an embedded data science lead, translating ambiguous questions into structured analysis and actionable recommendations.
• Define and steward core product metrics while partnering with analytics engineering teams to maintain trustworthy and consistent metric definitions.
• Develop and execute experiments end to end while continuously improving experimental rigor across various products.
• Build predictive, propensity, and segmentation models in collaboration with applied scientists and machine learning engineers.
• Develop internal data products that leverage AI to scale the data science team’s impact across the organization.
• Provide analytical and statistical guidance to product teams and stakeholders.
• Apply advanced experimentation methodologies to improve product decision-making and measurement.
• Communicate complex analytical findings clearly and translate insights into practical product and business recommendations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or a similar quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience in data science, product analytics, or a similar quantitative role.
• Strong foundation in statistics and experimentation design, including advanced experimentation techniques such as CUPED, sequential testing, and heterogeneous treatment effects.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python or R for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling.
• Experience developing segmentation and predictive models, including propensity, churn, and lifetime value models, to drive product or marketing decisions.
• Strong product judgment and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluency with AI-assisted and agentic workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or another relevant technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Background in consumer product analytics, particularly within creative tools, SaaS, or subscription businesses.
• Deep expertise in both online and offline model evaluation.
• Familiarity with product analytics and experimentation platforms.
• Experience working with modern data stacks, preferably Databricks and Spark.
