A leading global professional services organization is expanding its Responsible AI team within its Global Data & AI Practice. The organization helps businesses design, build, and deploy artificial intelligence systems in ways that promote trust, comply with applicable laws and regulations, and align with ethical standards.

The Responsible AI team develops AI solutions and intellectual property with ecosystem partners, collaborates with regulators and academic institutions, conducts research, and provides training and resources to organizations seeking to implement responsible and inclusive AI practices.

The organization is seeking a Lead AI / ML Engineer Responsible AI Manager to help clients address complex AI challenges while ensuring that AI systems are developed and deployed responsibly. The role combines advanced machine learning engineering with expertise in responsible AI principles, including fairness, transparency, explainability, robustness, soundness, and privacy.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement AI models and solutions while applying ethical and responsible AI practices.
• Detect, evaluate, and address relevant Responsible AI dimensions, including bias, fairness, robustness, and explainability.
• Identify and implement mitigation strategies for risks associated with AI systems.
• Support client sales conversations and contribute to proposal preparation.
• Optimize and maintain existing AI systems to improve performance while maintaining responsible AI standards.
• Participate throughout the full AI development lifecycle, including data preparation, solution design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
• Contribute to internal guidelines, technical best practices, and training programs related to responsible AI development.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies, responsible AI practices, ethical considerations, and industry developments.
• Assist in identifying and correcting biases within datasets and AI models.
• Document AI development processes and maintain transparent records of technical decisions and methodologies.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver responsible and technically sound AI solutions.
• Travel as required based on business needs and client requirements, with travel potentially ranging from 0% to 100%.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience developing and deploying machine learning models and AI solutions.
• Experience in at least two of the following areas:
  • Statistics and probability theory
  • Regression modeling
  • Clustering methods
  • Deep learning
  • Neural networks
  • Natural language processing
  • Text mining
  • Computer vision
  • Image recognition
  • Time-series forecasting
  • Machine learning visualization tools
  • Tree ensembles
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• Experience with big data technologies and tools such as Hadoop and Spark.
• Experience with database management and data processing.
• Working knowledge of cloud services and platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for AI applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional coursework or professional training in responsible AI, technology ethics, or related areas.
• Certifications in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or data science.
• More than 6 years of experience working on projects focused on ethical AI or AI for social good.
• Knowledge of AI ethics, data privacy, and regulatory frameworks.
• More than 6 years of experience with AI model interpretability and explainability tools.
• Experience with specialized visualization technologies such as D3.js or ggplot.
• More than 6 years of project management experience.
• Business-level proficiency in a language other than English.
