Summary
The Staff Data Scientist will lead the modelling and analysis roadmap for foreign exchange (FX) products, driving actionable insights to optimize trade execution, manage market risk, and support strategic decision-making. The role requires deep expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data-driven analysis, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams across Product, Engineering, Trading, Risk, and Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Own and prioritize the FX modelling and analysis roadmap in collaboration with Product Managers
  • Develop and maintain models to forecast and monitor FX rate volatility
  • Apply statistical and machine learning models to optimise FX trade execution, reducing costs and improving routing efficiency
  • Conduct data-driven analyses including customer cohort analysis, profitability assessment, and customer segmentation
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Traders, Risk, Engineering, and other stakeholders to translate insights into actionable decisions
  • Communicate analytical findings clearly to cross-functional teams to influence business strategy and decision-making

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of industry experience with an advanced degree (PhD or MS) in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or related disciplines
  • Strong proficiency in data querying (SQL), scripting (Python), and/or statistical software (R); knowledge of schema design and dimensional data modeling is a plus
  • Ability to perform statistical analysis and develop machine learning models for data-informed decisions
  • Experience presenting analytical results to executives and cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in technology, financial services, trading environments, or high-growth companies
  • Understanding of financial markets, foreign exchange, and dynamic trading systems
