Summary
The AI Policy Lead will support senior staff in creating materials for policy outreach, including publications, evaluation summaries, presentations, grant proposals, policy memos, blogs, social media content, newsletters, and website updates. The role also involves managing the administration of a sector-specific competitive research fund, developing deep expertise in a designated research area, and providing evidence-based insights to policymakers. Additional contributions may include knowledge management, diversity and inclusion initiatives, liaising with regional offices, and supporting broader organizational projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop policy outreach materials such as publications, evaluation summaries, presentations, and grant proposals
  • Manage and support the administration of a sector-specific research fund
  • Provide evidence-based insights to policymakers and stakeholders
  • Build expertise in a specific research sector and support organizational mission initiatives
  • Contribute to knowledge management, diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts
  • Act as a liaison between global and regional teams to ensure coordinated communication and policy engagement
  • Assist with additional research and policy projects as needed

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master’s degree in economics, public policy, or international development with significant economics training
  • Minimum of eight years of professional experience, including work in randomized evaluations, economics research, and international development policy
  • Strong technical understanding of economics to translate research findings into accurate, actionable policy guidance

Preferred:

  • Training or experience in computer science, machine learning, or AI-related topics
  • Experience overseeing research or policy grant competitions
  • Experience with technology, product development, or implementing AI tools
