Summary
The Senior Data Engineer will design, implement, and manage robust data systems to support business intelligence, AI, and operational needs. This role requires expertise in data modeling, ETL pipelines, governance, and an understanding of how data and AI intersect to solve complex business problems.

Responsibilities

Part 1: Data Modeling

  • Design and implement scalable, maintainable data models supporting BI, ML, and operational use cases
  • Choose appropriate schema designs (e.g., star schema, snowflake, normalized/denormalized) for each use case
  • Collaborate with business teams to translate requirements into clean, structured, and documented models
  • Promote Single Source of Truth (SSOT) across data layers and pipelines
  • Ensure data consistency, traceability, and quality across multiple sources

Part 2: ETL and Data Pipeline Management

  • Build and maintain batch and streaming ETL pipelines
  • Understand end-to-end data workflows from ingestion to delivery
  • Work closely with Data Platform Engineers and Product Managers to resolve data issues efficiently
  • Experience with distributed or multi-datacenter systems, including data migration, duplication, and consistency, is a plus

Part 3: Data Governance

  • Contribute to data governance strategies, policies, and standards
  • Familiarity with pillars of data governance, including data quality, stewardship, metadata management, master data management, data privacy/security, and data lifecycle

Part 4: Data + AI

  • Basic understanding of AI and interest in integrating data engineering with AI applications
  • Strong expertise in at least one core area (data modeling or ETL) is expected
  • Additional experience across other focus areas is advantageous
