A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Senior Manager of AI Engineering to drive the development of next-generation AI systems. The company focuses on delivering innovative, scalable, and secure AI solutions that transform healthcare operations and patient experiences. The role emphasizes technical leadership, strategic vision, and mentorship within a collaborative, high-performing AI engineering team.

Summary
The Senior Manager, AI Engineering, will lead the technical strategy, architecture, and execution of agentic AI systems. This role requires a combination of strategic leadership, deep technical expertise, and hands-on guidance to ensure AI solutions are robust, scalable, and secure, while fostering innovation across the team.

Responsibilities

  • Define the strategic and technical vision for the AI engineering team, aligning with business objectives
  • Design scalable, resilient, and robust agentic AI architectures with seamless external integrations
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, development guidelines, and engineering best practices for AI systems
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and hands-on guidance to AI development teams
  • Lead research and evaluation of emerging AI/ML models, tools, and technologies to drive innovation
  • Ensure the security, performance, and reliability of all AI solutions, implementing governance best practices
  • Manage engineering teams within a matrix delivery organization using Agile methodologies
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and technical excellence

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • 8–10 years of progressive leadership experience, including functional and people management roles
  • 5+ years managing technical teams in a matrix delivery environment using Agile methodologies
  • Proven experience defining and aligning a strategic technical vision with business goals
  • Expertise in designing scalable agentic architectures and establishing development best practices
  • Solid understanding of AI/ML concepts, including model training, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and major AI platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Deep knowledge in Governance, Information Security, Solution Architecture, and Systems Integration
  • Hands-on programming skills in Python, R, or Java for building AI models

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing and deploying agentic AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Practitioner or professional-level cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect)
