Company Overview
A leading semiconductor and wireless technology company is seeking a Principal SoC Architect to advance next-generation AI products for datacenter deployments. The organization focuses on innovative chip design, high-performance computing solutions, and security-driven architectures to meet the evolving needs of global data centers.

Summary
The Principal SoC Architect will define and drive the architecture for AI accelerators and servers, spanning card, server, and full rack levels. This role requires expertise in datacenter security, RAS (Reliability, Availability, Serviceability), and virtualization, collaborating with customers, ODMs, and internal teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Understand trends in datacenter security, RAS, and virtualization through customer and ODM engagements
  • Collaborate with customers to define hardware and software requirements
  • Analyze current AI server deployments across datacenters
  • Architect enhancements for next-generation AI product deployments
  • Design SoC architecture in areas including:
    1. RAS – Reliability analysis, serviceability design, and hardware/software techniques to improve availability
    2. Virtualization – Support multiple clients via VMs, ensure security and isolation, leverage industry best practices
    3. Security – Implement confidential compute or equivalent datacenter security solutions
  • Work closely with Product Marketing and datacenter customers to define requirements covering security, RAS, and virtualization

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or related field (Bachelor’s or PhD considered with relevant experience)
  • 10+ years of hardware design, testing, and commercialization experience
  • 3+ years working on datacenter-related products (servers, accelerators, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of datacenter security, RAS, virtualization, telemetry, power, cooling, lifecycle, and deployments
  • Familiarity with scale-up and scale-out architectures
  • Ability to work in a high-caliber international and multi-site team

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with Server SoC security, particularly Confidential Compute
  • Participation in OCP Security Forum or Confidential Compute Forum
  • Expertise in defining RAS infrastructure at the Server SoC level
  • Knowledge of PCIe protocols including SRIOV, SIOV, IDE, TDISP
  • Strong understanding of Ethernet protocols, error recovery, and virtualization
  • Proven ability to collaborate with PdM and datacenter customers on security, RAS, and virtualization requirements
