Company Overview
A leading global semiconductor and telecommunications technology company is seeking a Principal SoC Architect to drive next-generation AI datacenter products. The company focuses on designing high-performance system-on-chip (SoC) architectures and accelerators for AI workloads, ensuring scalability, security, reliability, and virtualization across enterprise-level datacenter environments.

Summary
The Principal SoC Architect will define and design SoC architectures for AI accelerators in datacenter products. The role requires deep expertise in hardware architecture, security, RAS (Reliability, Availability, Serviceability), and virtualization. The candidate will collaborate with customers, ODMs, and internal teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance AI solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Understand trends in datacenter security, RAS, and virtualization through customer and ODM engagements
  • Work with customers to determine hardware and software requirements
  • Analyze current AI server deployments in various datacenters
  • Architect enhancements for next-generation AI product deployments
  • Design SoC architecture in one or more areas:
    1. RAS: Reliability analysis at card, server, and rack levels; design for serviceability; implement HW/SW techniques to mitigate failures
    2. Virtualization: Support multiple clients on VMs using the same hardware; ensure security and isolation following industry best practices
    3. Security: Implement confidential compute or equivalent solutions based on datacenter requirements
  • Collaborate with product marketing and datacenter customers to define requirements for security, RAS, and virtualization

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related experience OR Master’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience
  • 10+ years of hardware design, testing, and commercialization experience
  • 3+ years working on datacenter products such as servers or accelerators
  • In-depth knowledge of datacenter systems: security, RAS, virtualization, telemetry, power, cooling, lifecycle, and deployments
  • Familiarity with scale-up and scale-out architectures
  • Ability to work in a high-caliber international/multi-site team

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience in server SoC security, particularly confidential compute
  • Participation in OCP Security Forum or Confidential Compute Forum
  • Experience defining RAS infrastructure at the Server SoC level
  • Knowledge of PCIe protocols, including SRIOV, SIOV, IDE, TDISP
  • Strong understanding of server SoC architectures focused on security, RAS, and virtualization
  • Knowledge of Ethernet protocols with emphasis on error recovery and virtualization
