The organization is also expanding into additional asset categories, including homes, motorcycles, and recreational vehicles.

The company has grown its customer base to more than 5 million customers and has expanded its operations across multiple business areas. Its Data Science & Analytics function supports business decision-making across product, growth, technology, and operations.

The organization is seeking a Data Scientist to join its central Data Science & Analytics team while becoming embedded within a core business area. The role will focus on using data and analytical insights to solve complex business problems, inform strategic decisions, and drive measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and clarify business problems before conducting analysis, ensuring that analytical work addresses meaningful business questions and supports specific decisions.
  • Develop hypotheses and analytical frameworks for ambiguous and complex business problems.
  • Define key metrics and build reports that help business teams understand performance.
  • Extract, structure, and analyze data independently using tools such as SQL and Python.
  • Design and evaluate experiments to generate actionable business insights.
  • Identify trends, opportunities, and issues that can influence important business metrics.
  • Communicate analytical findings and recommendations to stakeholders across product, growth, finance, operations, and other business functions.
  • Drive analytical initiatives from problem definition through execution and implementation.
  • Partner with business leaders to determine what is happening, understand why it is happening, and identify appropriate next steps.
  • Own the analytical function for an assigned business area and support end-to-end decision-making.
  • Apply first-principles thinking to break ambiguous problems into clear hypotheses and actionable analytical approaches.
  • Influence decisions through clear, persuasive, and data-driven communication.
  • Take ownership of analytical problems and work toward practical solutions, including issues outside of an immediate area of responsibility.

Business Areas

The organization is hiring Data Scientists to support several areas, including:

  • Growth Marketing
  • Product Development
  • AI & Automation
  • Strategic Partnerships

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience at a consulting firm, investment bank, or high-growth technology company.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to independently pull, structure, and interpret data.
  • Proficiency with analytical tools such as SQL or Python.
  • Demonstrated experience solving ambiguous business problems.
  • Track record of owning analytical initiatives and delivering measurable impact.
  • Strong ability to translate complex analytical findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with skeptical or senior stakeholders and influence business decisions.
  • Strong first-principles problem-solving approach.
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and drive them through execution.
