Job Description

The SpringCube team curated the following job opportunity to help you in your job search. Explore the position below to find your next career move.

Company Overview

A growing healthcare technology company is working to modernize the healthcare ecosystem by connecting patients, providers, and developers through a unified technology infrastructure. The organization is building an infrastructure layer that connects fragmented, on-premise, and closed electronic health record systems into a modern platform supporting software, APIs, payments, and patient experiences across the healthcare ecosystem.

The organization is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to own and evolve the foundational data systems that power analytics and enable the development of customer-facing insights. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role combining architectural influence with deep technical execution. The position will focus on expanding data capabilities, improving operational reliability, and enabling self-service access to trusted data.

The successful candidate will design data pipelines, refactor warehouse architecture, and establish modeling foundations that support reliable analytics across the organization. This role will contribute directly to the broader goal of building modern healthcare infrastructure while leveraging a growing body of healthcare data to strengthen data strategy, intelligence, and customer enablement.

This opportunity is well suited for a Staff-level engineer who has experience building strong data platforms, is comfortable working with legacy systems, and thrives in an environment where evolving technology and data-driven growth are key priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Own the Data Platform

  • Lead the architectural evolution of the data warehouse, modeling layer, and pipeline infrastructure.
  • Refactor core data models to support fast, self-service access and establish shared understanding across teams.
  • Build reliable ingestion and transformation systems capable of handling fragmented and complex data sources.
  • Take ownership of the structure, reliability, scalability, and extensibility of warehouse and modeling layers.
  • Replace brittle vendor-dependent pipelines with scalable and maintainable ingestion and transformation infrastructure.
  • Implement observability, alerting, and validation capabilities to ensure platform reliability and scalability.

Drive Strategic Data Initiatives

  • Collaborate with Staff-level analysts, engineers, and data consumers to improve workflows and enable actionable data insights.
  • Partner with software engineers to anticipate and manage upstream schema changes and database evolution.
  • Define and enforce clear data contracts and interface boundaries.
  • Help establish the foundation for future applications involving data science, customer segmentation, and broader industry insights.
  • Contribute to the organization’s long-term data strategy and enablement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering, with a focus on building scalable and well-tested systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, with strong expertise in modular modeling, optimization, and abstraction.
  • Experience building data platforms using modern managed data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
  • Proven ability to transform ambiguous, fragmented data systems into reliable, documented, and high-trust platforms.
  • Ability to operate independently at the Staff level with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Experience working within strong engineering cultures or high-quality product environments where quality, velocity, and ownership are valued.
  • Passion for clarity, simplicity, reliable systems, and helping teams move faster without compromising quality.
