Job Description

The SpringCube team curated the following job opportunity to help you in your job search. Explore the position below to find your next career move.

Company Overview

A leading global financial technology company provides an intelligent finance platform that helps businesses manage corporate spending, banking, bill payments, travel, and financial operations across more than 200 markets. Its AI-native approach combines proprietary financial data with product and platform infrastructure to automate complex financial tasks, improve visibility, and enable businesses to operate more efficiently.

AI Engineering

The AI engineering organization is developing intelligent, autonomous systems that transform how businesses manage their finances. By integrating proprietary financial data with product and platform infrastructure, the organization aims to turn complex financial operations into simple, automated experiences.

The AI Engineer, Ecosystem will serve as the technical owner for the organization’s external AI ecosystem, including integrations, user-facing surfaces, and standards that allow customers to interact with financial products through third-party AI assistants and platforms.

The role will focus on transforming early integrations into stable, secure, and highly usable applications that can be showcased by platform partners and relied upon by sophisticated customers. The engineer will help determine how data and actions are safely exposed, how permissions and auditability operate across system boundaries, and how new capabilities, including richer user interface surfaces, can be introduced over time.

Where You’ll Work

The role will be based in San Francisco, California, within a hybrid working environment that combines in-office collaboration with the flexibility of working from home. Employees are expected to work from the office three coordinated days per week: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The position also offers up to four weeks per year of fully remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Own MCP applications and integrations for OpenAI, Claude, Slack, and other external platforms, including roadmap decisions across core and long-tail partners.
  • Define technical, user experience, and reliability standards for how financial products and services operate within external AI assistant ecosystems.
  • Design and maintain secure, auditable integration patterns, including permissions, read/write access, and the ability to act on behalf of users across third-party environments.
  • Build and operate production-grade integrations that remain resilient as external platforms evolve and third-party clients and technical constraints change.
  • Partner with Security, Platform, Sales, Enablement, and internal AI agent teams to ensure integrations are secure, valuable, reliable, and properly supported.
  • Serve as a center of excellence for reusable AI capabilities by defining and promoting standards, patterns, and shared components.
  • Develop AI capabilities that can support both internal product experiences and external ecosystem integrations.
  • Take end-to-end technical ownership of integration quality, reliability, security, and launch readiness.

Requirements

  • Experience building and owning production software, including systems that integrate with or depend on third-party platforms.
  • Demonstrated technical ownership of user-facing products used by real external customers.
  • Deep experience with identity, authentication, and secure data access across system boundaries.
  • Strong understanding of OAuth and role-based access control (RBAC) for managing permissions.
  • Proven ability to build, launch, and operate reliable integrations with external APIs and clients outside the organization’s control.
  • Strong product judgment and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take end-to-end ownership and maintain accountability for product quality and launch readiness.

Bonus Points

  • Experience publishing and maintaining applications or integrations in third-party marketplaces such as iOS, Slack, Shopify, GitHub, or Chrome.
  • Previous experience developing administrative or platform-side tooling for external ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with conversational or agentic interfaces used in production environments.
  • Experience creating evaluations to measure and improve the quality, reliability, and safety of AI-powered features.
