The organization is seeking a Data Engineer, Fleet Data, Self-Driving to help unlock the full potential of data generated by millions of connected vehicles. This role focuses on building reliable data pipelines, scalable infrastructure, and analytical platforms that support the development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of autonomous driving systems.

The successful candidate will work at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and data science to develop high-quality datasets, performance metrics, and visualization tools. This position plays a critical role in enabling engineering teams to make data-driven decisions while supporting the advancement of scalable autonomous vehicle technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain scalable data platforms that enable teams to discover, query, and analyze fleet data efficiently.
  • Develop and implement end-to-end data pipelines, from data ingestion and transformation to visualization and reporting.
  • Build and define key performance metrics for autonomous driving systems and specific driving events to generate actionable insights.
  • Monitor and maintain data infrastructure through automated alerting, logging, and reliability improvements.
  • Develop automation tools, internal libraries, developer utilities, and AI-powered solutions that enhance data analysis and visualization.
  • Manage fleet data ingestion to ensure high-quality, diverse datasets are available for downstream consumers.
  • Collaborate closely with AI engineering teams to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of newly developed datasets.
  • Create interactive dashboards and visualization tools that transform complex datasets into meaningful business and engineering insights.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL with experience developing scalable ETL pipelines, data models, and high-performance queries.
  • Experience working with modern data technologies such as PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, PySpark, Dagster, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of the complete data lifecycle, including data sourcing, ingestion, transformation, analytics, and visualization.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects from data collection through pipeline development and delivery of actionable insights.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment with changing priorities and ambiguity.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Passion for artificial intelligence, autonomous driving technologies, and the future of transportation.
