The organization is seeking a Sr Staff Machine Learning Engineer – AI Solutions to build and lead machine learning and backend systems that support the growth and scalability of AI-powered products and services.
This role is designed for a highly experienced technical leader who can take ownership of an entire product or business area, from machine learning and backend infrastructure to product direction and business outcomes. The successful candidate will work closely with product managers, engineers, customers, and business leaders to identify high-impact opportunities and turn them into scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build machine learning and backend systems that enable sustainable business growth while personally addressing complex technical challenges.
- Own a product or business vertical from end to end, including setting strategic direction, identifying growth opportunities, and driving key business metrics.
- Make strategic and technical decisions in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments.
- Partner directly with important customers to understand their needs, strengthen relationships, and influence future product development.
- Develop solutions that connect machine learning, backend infrastructure, and product requirements.
- Identify high-leverage opportunities and translate them into measurable business and technical outcomes.
- Build and strengthen engineering teams while establishing high standards for technical excellence.
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, customer, and business leadership to align technical initiatives with growth objectives.
- Drive the development of production-grade AI systems that can scale alongside business growth.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
- 7+ years of experience building and shipping products powered by machine learning.
- Demonstrated experience owning both technology and business results for a significant product area.
- Proven track record of driving measurable business growth, including revenue, adoption, customer expansion, or market growth.
- Deep expertise in machine learning systems and backend distributed systems.
- Experience building production systems capable of scaling with business and customer requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to identify high-impact opportunities in ambiguous environments and drive them through execution.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to align customers, product teams, engineers, and business leaders around strategic objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience taking a product or business line from an early stage to meaningful scale, preferably in a startup or startup-like environment.
- Experience owning revenue and growth throughout the development and scaling of a product or business line.
- Experience leading an applied AI product domain such as real-world data, agentic environments, AI evaluation, multimodal machine learning, or multilingual machine learning.
- Expertise in Generative AI and large language model systems at production scale, including architecture, evaluation, safety, and responsible deployment.
- Experience in areas central to advanced AI development, including physical-world and physical AI data, agentic reinforcement learning environments and evaluation, multilingual and audio systems, robotics, or egocentric data.
- Demonstrated experience managing strategic customer relationships and translating customer needs into product and business opportunities.
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset with a demonstrated ability to operate with significant ownership and accountability.
