Company Overview

A leading global technology and mobility organization is launching an autonomous vehicle research and development initiative focused on accelerating the autonomous technology ecosystem. The team brings together multidisciplinary experts to transform real-world operations into high-quality data that can support autonomous technology partners.

The initiative focuses on addressing one of the most challenging problems in autonomous driving: unlocking rare, real-world, long-tail driving data. By leveraging large-scale real-world driving data, the organization aims to develop advanced machine learning technologies that improve autonomous driving systems and enable deeper understanding of complex driving environments.

As a Machine Learning Engineer II – AV Labs, the successful candidate will work at the forefront of Physical AI, developing advanced autonomy algorithms and machine learning models that add rich semantic information to large-scale driving datasets.

The role will involve implementing modern machine learning techniques to improve data mining, deep scene understanding, and causal modeling of ego vehicle behavior. The successful candidate will be expected to identify complex edge cases, develop robust algorithmic solutions, and maintain a high standard of technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop algorithms and foundation models that extract high-fidelity semantic meaning from complex urban edge cases and enrich large-scale autonomous vehicle datasets.
  • Design and implement scalable machine learning systems, including the management of upstream sensor dependencies.
  • Deliver high-quality datasets that accelerate machine learning technologies through advanced sensor data collection, processing, and auto-labeling.
  • Develop solutions that improve data mining and deep scene understanding for autonomous driving applications.
  • Apply causal modeling techniques to better understand ego vehicle behavior.
  • Identify complex edge cases and develop robust algorithmic solutions to address challenging autonomous driving scenarios.
  • Collaborate with platform, product, and security engineering teams to successfully deploy advanced machine learning technologies into production.
  • Contribute to the development of scalable and reliable machine learning infrastructure for autonomous technology applications.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional experience in the machine learning or robotics industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Experience working in Linux environments.
  • Familiarity with modern artificial intelligence and machine learning frameworks, such as PyTorch.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and their application to complex real-world problems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across engineering and technical teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on technical excellence.
