A leading global technology and mobility platform is seeking a Data Scientist I to join its Data Science team. The organization uses large-scale data, experimentation, and advanced analytics to improve products, marketplaces, and user experiences across its global operations.

Science plays a critical role in transforming complex data into actionable insights that support major business and product decisions. The Data Science team works closely with product and engineering partners to evaluate product quality, understand user behavior, and identify opportunities for improvement.

As a Data Scientist I, the successful candidate will analyze massive, multi-dimensional datasets to support the evolution of core platforms and marketplaces. This analytics-focused position provides an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, develop foundational analytical expertise, and contribute to products that impact millions of users.

The role involves collaborating with senior data scientists and product partners to develop insights, monitor product performance, and ensure business decisions are supported by rigorous quantitative analysis. Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary range of $125,000 to $139,000.
  • Eligibility to participate in a bonus program.
  • Potential eligibility for additional forms of compensation.

  • May offer a telecommuting arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leverage data to perform intensive analysis across business areas and support product development.
  • Design experiments and analyze results to draw statistically sound conclusions.
  • Perform time-series analysis, hypothesis testing, and causal analysis to assess relative impact and identify trends.
  • Build analytical models to improve understanding of user behavior and predict future cohort performance.
  • Create dashboards and reports to communicate findings and monitor key business and product metrics.
  • Extract data from data warehouses and back-test models to evaluate and compare model performance.
  • Communicate analytical findings and model results effectively to relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop end-to-end analytical solutions for business and engineering challenges involving funnel optimization, user engagement, and user experience.
  • Partner with product, engineering, and senior data science professionals to translate complex business questions into measurable analytical solutions.
  • Develop and monitor relevant KPIs and metrics used by product teams to measure performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Information Management, Information Systems, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in R or Python.
  • Experience with database query languages, particularly SQL.
  • Knowledge of experimentation techniques, including simulation and A/B testing.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, including descriptive statistics, correlation, regression, and confidence intervals.
  • Experience developing relevant metrics and KPIs to measure product performance.
  • Experience with quantitative modeling, including machine learning models, time-series forecasting, or causal impact analysis.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Google Sheets, Excel, and charting libraries.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with large and complex datasets.
