About the Role

The organization is seeking a Data Scientist II, Tech to analyze large and complex datasets, solve moderately complex product problems, and support projects involving multiple dependencies. This analytics-focused position requires independently refining ambiguous business questions, translating business requirements into technical solutions, and developing insights that improve the user experience across multiple product areas.

The successful candidate will work in a fast-moving environment where analytical results have a direct impact on real-world business decisions. The role requires strong collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams, ownership of analytical projects from inception through implementation, and the ability to communicate complex findings to audiences with varying technical backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with web product teams to design and analyze experiments.
• Monitor and interpret business trends, proactively identify important changes, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop appropriate solutions.
• Conduct deep-dive analyses to answer complex and abstract questions related to product usage.
• Develop dashboards that provide reliable insights and visualizations across lines of business and web platforms.
• Establish relevant metrics and KPIs to measure product and business performance.
• Translate high-level organizational objectives into technical data science roadmaps and specific analytical or machine learning requirements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Operations, and other stakeholders.
• Communicate complex analytical concepts and findings through presentations, reports, and data visualizations.
• Support monitoring systems and analytical processes that contribute to platform and product reliability.
• Take ownership of analytical initiatives from initial problem definition through implementation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Quantitative Management, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in the position offered or in a related occupation.
• Proficiency in database query languages, including SQL.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or comparable business intelligence platforms, including Looker, Amplitude, or Mixpanel.
• Experience performing scalable data analysis using R or Python.
• Knowledge of experimentation techniques and statistical analysis, including A/B testing, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and confidence intervals.
• Experience developing relevant metrics and KPIs to measure product team performance.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally and communicating complex technical concepts through PowerPoint presentations and analytical reports.
• Ability to translate organizational objectives into technical data science roadmaps and analytical or machine learning project requirements.
• Experience with big data frameworks such as Spark and Hive for scalable data processing.

Additional Compensation and Benefits

The position offers an annual rate of pay ranging from $164,403 to $174,000. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in a bonus program and may receive other forms of compensation and benefits.
