The organization is seeking a Sr. Director, Data Science & Analytics to build and scale a centralized center of excellence in data science and analytics. Reporting to senior leadership within the product organization, this role will establish a strong data-driven culture and ensure that product strategy, innovation, resource allocation, and business decisions are supported by actionable insights.

The Opportunity

The Sr. Director, Data Science & Analytics will lead the development of a world-class data science organization integrating data engineering, analytics, and modeling across a broad product portfolio. The role will establish consistent measurement frameworks, strengthen experimentation capabilities, and provide actionable insights that directly influence product roadmaps, investment decisions, and strategic priorities.

The role will work closely with product, engineering, research, marketing, and finance teams to ensure that product innovation is grounded in measurable impact. The successful candidate will also help define the future direction of creativity by using data, experimentation, and analytics to understand customer behavior and product performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a world-class centralized data science organization integrating data engineering, analytics, and modeling across products.
  • Establish consistent product instrumentation and shared benchmark frameworks across the organization.
  • Implement standardized experimentation processes and automated, reliable reporting to accelerate product learning and iteration.
  • Deliver actionable product guidance and proactively influence roadmap and portfolio decisions through clear, data-driven insights.
  • Own monthly product health reviews and develop weekly business narratives that support quarterly planning, staffing, and strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with product, engineering, marketing, and finance teams to guide roadmaps, investment decisions, and financial modeling.
  • Ensure product decisions are supported by measurable business and customer impact.
  • Lead the development of analytical models that reveal activation, retention, cross-product journeys, and product quality signals.
  • Develop deeper understanding of customer segments and product evolution through advanced data science and analytics.
  • Inspire, hire, develop, and manage a diverse team of data professionals.
  • Define the data science, business analytics, and product analytics vision and establish the technical roadmap aligned with broader organizational goals.
  • Collaborate across functions to ensure data-driven insights directly influence strategic priorities and product innovation.
  • Build a culture of experimentation, continuous learning, analytical rigor, and data-driven decision-making.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant technical field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience managing analytics teams and partnering with Product and Engineering organizations.
  • Extensive experience using data to influence product planning, prioritization, business strategy, and investment decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience building and leading multidisciplinary teams consisting of data scientists, engineers, and analytics professionals.
  • Deep expertise partnering with product organizations to build, support, and validate products that customers value while driving successful business outcomes at scale.
  • Proven ability to influence organizational strategy and lead change through compelling communication of data-driven insights.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity, decisiveness, and adaptability when operating in ambiguous and complex environments.
  • Exceptional collaboration, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of data science, business analytics, product analytics, experimentation, and data-driven product development.
