The organization is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager, AI Agents to lead the AI Teammates Platform team, the core engineering group responsible for the execution engine and capability layer powering AI agents. The role will oversee a senior team of approximately eight engineers and guide the systems that determine how AI agents reason, execute tasks, and improve over time.

About the Team

The AI Teammates Platform team owns the execution engine and capability layer that powers AI agents. Its responsibilities include evaluating, integrating, and deploying new large language models, developing proactive and autonomous agent behavior, building platform and developer experiences for internal engineering teams, and maintaining quality and evaluation infrastructure.

The team works closely with related engineering groups focused on agent orchestration and AI chat, while another team owns the user-facing AI Teammates experience. The platform team operates in a fast-moving environment and tackles complex applied AI challenges in enterprise software.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of approximately eight senior engineers, establishing technical direction and driving execution on core AI agent capabilities.
• Own the technical vision for the AI agent execution engine, including model integration, proactive agent behavior, and evaluation infrastructure.
• Lead the model upgrade pipeline by evaluating new large language models and balancing execution quality, latency, and cost.
• Build and maintain a platform that enables other engineering teams to develop AI-powered features on top of the AI agent infrastructure.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Data Science teams to define and execute roadmap priorities.
• Collaborate with peer engineering teams on shared infrastructure, APIs, and cross-team initiatives.
• Improve engineering delivery pace and overall team velocity.
• Champion the adoption of AI-powered coding and developer productivity tools.
• Attract, retain, mentor, and develop exceptional senior engineering talent.
• Provide technical leadership in a rapidly evolving and ambiguous applied AI environment.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 4+ years of experience managing technical engineering teams.
• Applied AI experience is essential.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience building products powered by large language models.
• Strong technical foundation with the ability to guide architectural decisions in fast-moving AI product environments.
• Experience building and scaling platform teams that serve multiple product surfaces and internal engineering consumers.
• Experience working effectively in ambiguous, zero-to-one product environments.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across Engineering, Product, and Data Science.
• Demonstrated ability to drive engineering velocity improvements.
• Experience adopting developer productivity and AI coding tools.
• Strong interest in emerging AI technologies and a willingness to continuously learn and apply new tools.
