A leading global technology and delivery platform is seeking a Software Engineer II, Data Engineering to join its Data Engineering team. The team develops database solutions, data pipelines, data structures, and data warehouse architectures that support reporting, product analytics, marketing optimization, financial reporting, and broader business decision-making.

The organization is looking for a technical and hands-on software engineer who can help scale data infrastructure, automation, and engineering tools to support growing business needs.

About the Team

Data serves as a foundation for business and product decision-making. The Data Engineering team builds and maintains large-scale data infrastructure designed to provide reliable, high-quality data across a range of business use cases. The team works on data pipelines, data models, data warehouses, and distributed data systems that enable teams to efficiently access and utilize critical information.

About the Role

The Software Engineer II, Data Engineering will work closely with business partners, stakeholders, engineering teams, product teams, and third-party partners to understand data requirements and develop scalable data solutions.

The role will focus on building high-volume, high-performance data models and pipelines, improving ETL reliability and scalability, maintaining data quality, and supporting the development of trustworthy data products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with business partners and stakeholders to understand data requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams as well as third-party partners to collect required data.
  • Design, develop, and implement large-scale, high-volume, high-performance data models and pipelines for Data Lake and Data Warehouse environments.
  • Develop and implement data quality checks and conduct quality assurance activities.
  • Implement monitoring routines to maintain data reliability and performance.
  • Improve the reliability and scalability of ETL processes.
  • Manage a portfolio of data products that deliver high-quality and trustworthy data.
  • Support the onboarding and development of other engineers joining the team.
  • Contribute to data infrastructure, automation, and engineering tools that support evolving business requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or a similar technical role.
  • Proficiency in AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor across the software development lifecycle, including design, code generation, testing, monitoring, and software releases.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java.
  • 3+ years of experience with ETL orchestration and workflow management tools such as Airflow, Flink, Oozie, or Azkaban.
  • Experience working with AWS and/or GCP.
  • Strong knowledge of database fundamentals, SQL, and distributed computing.
  • 3+ years of experience with distributed data ecosystems such as Spark, Hive, Druid, or Presto.
  • Experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka or Flink.
  • Experience working with Snowflake, Redshift, PostgreSQL, and/or other database management systems.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Knowledge of reporting and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Superset, or Looker.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and capable of independently organizing and managing work.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret market and consumer information.
  • Must be located near one of the designated engineering hubs.
