The organization is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, AI Tooling Engineering to help build and scale its internal AI tooling platform. This role focuses on enabling employees to rapidly transform ideas into functional applications, dashboards, and workflow tools while emphasizing platform engineering, security, integrations, and scalability.

The successful candidate will work on high-impact initiatives across AI tooling, automation, cloud infrastructure, and engineering productivity. This position also offers the opportunity to mentor engineers, collaborate across teams, and contribute to the development of a world-class engineering organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of AI tools and applications from concept through implementation.
  • Support incident response efforts by building ad-hoc tools for threat hunting, remediation, and scanning.
  • Build, monitor, and maintain critical infrastructure, including Kubernetes clusters, serverless workloads, and ETL pipelines.
  • Partner with engineering teams to identify opportunities for automation and tooling improvements.
  • Collaborate with product engineering teams to enhance security outcomes through automation, patching solutions, gateways, and risk-reduction services.
  • Deliver AI tooling solutions leveraged across the organization.
  • Mentor and support the growth of Software Engineers across the team.
  • Work autonomously on complex technical initiatives while ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
  • Experience working with production codebases.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python) and one systems programming language (e.g., Golang or C/C++).
  • Experience with modern cloud infrastructure, including data pipelines, serverless workloads, and Kubernetes.
  • Proven ability to independently lead and deliver projects to a high standard.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify optimal solutions for complex challenges.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a high-growth technology company.
  • Hands-on experience leveraging AI to build applications.
  • Experience maintaining Linux operating systems.
