The organization is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Backend to join its engineering team and help build the infrastructure and products that power its large-scale data and AI platform. This role focuses on developing highly scalable backend systems, distributed services, and cloud-native infrastructure that support millions of virtual machines and mission-critical workloads.

The successful candidate will collaborate with engineering teams to design, build, and optimize backend services while solving complex technical challenges involving distributed systems, cloud computing, resource management, and machine learning infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend infrastructure and platform services.
  • Build reliable and high-performance services and client libraries capable of processing massive volumes of cloud-based data.
  • Develop resource management infrastructure that powers large-scale data processing and machine learning workloads.
  • Create tools that enable engineering teams to efficiently operate services across multiple cloud providers and deployment environments.
  • Build infrastructure and products at the intersection of distributed systems and machine learning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to improve platform scalability, security, and performance.
  • Develop cloud-agnostic solutions that operate seamlessly across multiple geographic regions and cloud environments.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of platform architecture and engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience using Java, Scala, C++, or a similar programming language.
  • Experience designing and developing large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience working on SaaS platforms or Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Docker, or Kubernetes.
  • Experience building secure systems that process sensitive data.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL.
  • Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
