Summary
The Principal AI Software Engineer will define the architectural blueprint for scalable AI/ML and agentic systems within the GTM/CX domain. This role involves leading design and implementation of advanced AI applications, ensuring performance, reliability, and safety across all AI/ML components while mentoring teams and shaping organizational practices in AI engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Establish standards for safety, guardrails, reliability, observability, and performance across AI/ML/Agentic components
  • Lead design and implementation of ML/LLM/GenAI-powered agents capable of planning, multi-step execution, self-correction, and collaboration
  • Drive end-to-end solution development from prototype to production ensuring scalability and reliability
  • Build, fine-tune, or adapt LLMs, multimodal models, and specialized agent models
  • Integrate traditional AI/ML/Statistical models into agentic workflows
  • Develop advanced reasoning pipelines, retrieval systems, and knowledge graph integrations supporting autonomous tasks
  • Ensure production readiness through testing, evaluation frameworks, and performance validation
  • Partner with data engineering to design high-quality datasets, synthetic data pipelines, and feedback loops for continual learning
  • Mentor and guide data scientists and engineers, elevating technical practices across teams
  • Communicate complex technical decisions and trade-offs to executives and cross-functional stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Masters/PhD in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related field
  • 15+ years in data science, software engineering, data engineering, ML or applied AI, including architecting large-scale distributed systems
  • Proven experience designing and deploying production ML and LLM-powered applications, including agentic systems
  • Expertise in developing conversational agents and multi-agent automation systems
  • Experience with orchestration frameworks like LangChain or LangGraph
  • Up-to-date knowledge of LLMs such as GPT, Anthropic, LLaMA models
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-ambiguity cross-team technical initiatives
  • Hands-on experience in supervised, unsupervised, and semi-supervised models
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one core programming language (Python, Go, Java, or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of distributed systems, microservice architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels
