Company Overview
A leading technology-driven logistics platform is seeking a Software Engineer II for its Data Engineering team. The organization focuses on building scalable, high-performance data infrastructure to support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives. The team works across multiple domains, including marketing optimization, product analytics, and financial reporting, providing the foundation for data-driven decision-making.

About the Role
The Software Engineer II will design, develop, and implement large-scale data models and pipelines while improving the reliability, scalability, and quality of ETL processes. This role requires collaboration with engineering, product, and business teams to meet growing data needs and ensure trustworthy, high-quality data for the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business partners and stakeholders to understand data requirements
  • Work with engineering, product teams, and third parties to collect necessary data
  • Design, develop, and implement large-scale, high-volume, high-performance data models and pipelines for Data Lake and Data Warehouse environments
  • Develop and implement data quality checks, conduct QA, and implement monitoring routines
  • Improve the reliability and scalability of ETL processes
  • Manage a portfolio of data products delivering high-quality, trustworthy data
  • Onboard and support new engineers joining the team

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or similar roles
  • Proficiency in AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) across the full software development lifecycle
  • Strong programming skills in Python and Java
  • 3+ years of experience in ETL orchestration and workflow management tools such as Airflow, Flink, Oozie, or Azkaban on AWS/GCP
  • Expertise in database fundamentals, SQL, and distributed computing
  • 3+ years of experience with distributed data ecosystems (e.g., Spark, Hive, Druid, Presto) and streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Flink)
  • Experience with Snowflake, Redshift, PostgreSQL, or other DBMS platforms
  • Familiarity with reporting tools such as Tableau, Superset, and Looker
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working with both technical and non-technical teams
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, self-starter, and self-organizing
  • Ability to think strategically and analyze market and consumer information
  • Must be located near one of the organization’s engineering hubs
