A leading technology-driven logistics company is seeking Software Engineers to join its Core Data Platform team. The organization emphasizes data-driven decision-making and builds scalable infrastructure for analytics, machine learning, and operational insights. About the Role
The Data Platform team develops and operates frameworks for data mobility, ingestion, infrastructure, tools, and governance. Engineers on this team design scalable compute and ingestion systems using technologies such as Spark, Flink, Kafka, Airflow, and modern lakehouse solutions. They also build abstractions and tools to simplify data workflows for engineers, analysts, and ML practitioners, while ensuring strong data quality, cataloging, privacy, and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the vision and strategy for building and scaling data frameworks to support business growth
  • Design, develop, and operate high-scale, reliable, and cost-efficient data infrastructure
  • Collaborate with stakeholders building solutions on top of the platform
  • Scale the analytical platform to accommodate growing data volumes and use cases
  • Foster a positive and supportive work culture and mentor other engineers
  • Promote real-time insights and data analytics at scale

Qualifications

  • B.S., M.S., or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 2+ years of industry experience for I4 level; 5+ years for I5 level
  • Proficiency in AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) across the full software development lifecycle
  • Experience with big data technologies and frameworks such as Apache Kafka, Flink, Spark, Cassandra, Clickhouse, Iceberg
  • Prior technical experience building and managing Big Data infrastructure and governance systems
  • Bonus: experience with open-source data infrastructure tools like DataHub, Spark, Airflow, Kafka, or Flink
  • Strong skills in improving efficiency, scalability, and stability of data platforms
  • Must be located in, or willing to relocate to, San Francisco, CA; Sunnyvale, CA; Seattle, WA; or New York, NY
