Summary
The ED/SVP, Technology Audit – Data, AI and Applications, will provide strategic leadership for technology audits across the bank, ensuring the integrity, security, and effectiveness of data, AI models, and applications. This role combines executive-level oversight, deep technical expertise, and team leadership to drive best practices in audit and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Audit Leadership: Develop and champion a strategic vision for technology audit in Data, AI, and Applications, aligning with business strategy and risk appetite. Create and implement a roadmap including key initiatives, resource allocation, and performance metrics. Lead development of audit plans addressing application criticality, data integrity, AI models, regulatory requirements, and business objectives. Identify and assess emerging risks and implement preventative strategies.
• Audit Execution and Oversight: Conduct and oversee audits of IT applications, data management, and AI models. Evaluate system controls, including services-oriented architectures, virtualized environments, and software development practices. Design and execute sophisticated audit testing using data analytics to assess system, data, and AI model integrity. Maintain accurate and actionable audit documentation.
• Governance and Regulatory Compliance: Implement a comprehensive data and AI governance framework from an audit perspective. Assess policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring compliance with data privacy (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and AI-related regulations. Engage with industry bodies and regulatory agencies to adopt emerging best practices.
• Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor the Technology Audit team, fostering continuous learning and professional development. Ensure effective oversight of data, AI, and application activities. Participate in departmental initiatives to enhance overall audit effectiveness.
• Stakeholder Management and Thought Leadership: Communicate complex risk and audit findings to executives, the Board, and regulators. Serve as a thought leader internally and externally on technology audit, data, and AI risk management. Influence adoption of best practices and risk mitigation strategies across the organization.

Requirements

• Experience & Professional Background: Minimum 15 years in IT auditing, application support, or risk management, with at least 5 years in Second Line of Defence or Audit within a large financial institution. Proven leadership of complex technology audit functions focusing on Data, AI, and Applications. Executive-level experience in Audit or Risk functions.
• Technical Expertise: Expertise in data risk, governance, AI ethics, and model risk management. Familiarity with machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and model development lifecycles. Knowledge of transactional applications, development, production support, and troubleshooting. Proficiency in cloud computing, containerization (Docker), and API technologies. Understanding of continuous delivery, integration, automated testing, and performance monitoring.
• Education & Certifications: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related field. Professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CRISC, CISM, or FRM preferred.
• Skills & Competencies: Exceptional communication, presentation, and influencing skills. Strong project management and organizational abilities in fast-paced environments. Ability to take ownership, drive continuous improvement, and deliver high-quality audit outcomes.
