About the Role
The Senior Manager of AI Engineering will lead the technical strategy and execution of advanced agentic AI systems. This high-impact role involves defining technical architecture, frameworks, and best practices to shape the future of AI-driven solutions. The ideal candidate is a strategic and technical leader capable of providing mentorship to a talented AI development team while ensuring scalable, robust, and secure systems. This role supports a flexible work model for candidates local to the Boston, MA office.

Responsibilities

  • Define and champion the strategic and technical vision for the AI engineering team aligned with business goals
  • Design scalable, resilient, and robust agentic architectures with advanced AI capabilities and seamless integrations
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, development guidelines, and engineering best practices
  • Provide technical leadership, hands-on guidance, and mentorship to the AI development team
  • Lead research and evaluation of emerging AI/ML models, agentic technologies, and tools
  • Ensure the security, performance, and reliability of all agentic AI solutions
  • Manage engineering teams using Agile methodologies for efficient and predictable execution

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 8–10 years of progressive leadership experience with functional and people management
  • 5+ years managing technical teams in a matrix delivery organization using Agile methodologies
  • Proven experience defining strategic technical vision and aligning engineering teams with business goals
  • Strong background in designing scalable agentic architectures and establishing development best practices
  • Solid understanding of core AI/ML concepts, including model training, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and major AI platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Expertise in Governance, Information Security, Solution Architecture, and Systems Integration
  • Hands-on programming skills in Python, R, or Java

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing and deploying agentic AI solutions on leading cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Practitioner-level or Professional-level cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect)
