Job Title: VP, Data and AI Governance
Job Description Role Responsibilities
• Develop and implement a data governance framework aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with data privacy and security regulations.
• Define data governance policies, standards, and procedures to maintain data quality, security, and compliance.
• Maintain data and AI risk taxonomies and control libraries.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and prioritize governance initiatives supporting strategic objectives.
• Design, implement, and maintain AI governance frameworks, policies, and standards, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards (e.g., EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, APAC regulations).
Risk Management
• Conduct AI risk assessments and impact analyses to identify and mitigate risks such as bias, privacy violations, security vulnerabilities, and ethical concerns.
• Support data and AI governance audits, identifying areas of non-compliance and recommending improvements.
Digitization of Governance
• Support development and execution of digital strategies to enhance the quality and speed of Data and AI governance.
Monitoring & Reporting
• Define and track KPIs and adoption rates for Data and AI governance, preparing regular reports and insights for senior leadership and regulatory stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, IT, Data Science, and business teams to promote understanding, adoption, and alignment of Data and AI initiatives with business goals.
Qualifications & Experience
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, or Operations Research.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in data and analytics roles within financial services.
• Expertise in relevant laws and regulations related to data and financial services, including BCBS239 compliance and cloud outsourcing requirements.
• Experience in data governance frameworks, policies, and guidelines, covering data standards, metadata management, data quality, data stewardship, and data protection.
• Knowledge of data management technologies (data catalogues, data quality tools), enterprise and cloud technologies, and internal governance and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with AI governance frameworks and controls.
• Ability to make decisions aligned with corporate philosophy, ethics, compliance, risk management, and the firm’s code of conduct.
