Job Description About the Department
The Data Management Office and Big Data Analytics function ensures high-quality and credible data across the organization.
Data Management Office
Govern the use of data across the enterprise, providing guidance for data management and usage. Optimize the value of data to enable smarter, faster, and more accurate decision-making while improving operational efficiency. Ensure adherence to data governance standards and regulatory requirements.
Big Data Analytics
A centralized analytics function supporting enterprise-wide business units. It serves as an analytics centre of excellence, driving adoption of analytics and emerging big data technologies. Key services include business intelligence, strategic analytics, and data science.
Responsibilities
• Support the Head of Enterprise Data Governance in defining and operationalizing the long-term vision and strategy for data governance aligned with business objectives and risk appetite.
• Drive adoption of the enterprise-wide Data & AI Governance strategy, framework, and policy, incorporating best practices across multiple jurisdictions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including business users, data scientists, technology, risk, legal, and compliance—to integrate governance practices into the enterprise ecosystem.
• Lead and participate in Data & AI risk assessments and validations across the data lifecycle.
• Lead cross-functional data quality initiatives across regions, addressing enterprise data quality challenges with a focus on critical datasets.
• Mentor and guide a team of data quality analysts to deliver enterprise-wide solutions.
• Provide expertise in business-data requirements, design of quality checks, data profiling, root cause analysis, and data quality scorecards.
• Innovate in identifying and resolving data management issues using data science, machine learning, or statistical approaches.
• Report periodically on data quality initiatives, issues, and remediation plans to senior management.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the end-to-end data landscape, including systems, processes, and data flows to support governance reviews.
• Act as a change agent to instill a data governance culture across business and technical teams.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Computing, Data Science, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in banking or consulting with strong exposure to financial services.
• Deep knowledge of Data & AI Governance strategy, policy, and industry best practices, especially in the financial sector.
• Understanding of AI technologies and machine learning, including testing AI models (e.g., Red Teaming), is a plus.
• Strong understanding of data management lifecycle, architecture, quality, and metadata management.
• Excellent project management, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to drive teams and initiatives independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal capabilities.
