Engineer, Data Analytics

A company is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to join their team. This role is crucial for developing data analytics solutions that support both global company objectives and internal business requirements.

Key Job Accountabilities:

• Develop data analytics solutions that create value, aligning with global company objectives and internal business needs.
• Proactively engage with internal stakeholders to gather data requirements essential for supporting business operations.
• Analyze complex problems and provide comprehensive source-to-target mappings and information specification documents for datasets.
• Perform thorough data preparation of datasets to meet specific project requirements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to design and implement efficient data stores, including databases, data warehouses, and/or data lakes. This ensures data is stored efficiently, kept up-to-date, and readily accessible for external systems or end-users.
• Utilize statistical tools to interpret complex datasets, with a keen focus on identifying trends and patterns valuable for diagnostic and predictive analytics.
• Analyze and recommend specific data types that can be used to derive features and develop rule-based approaches for various business applications.
• Develop and create best-practice reports through data mining, analysis, and visualization implementation.
• Design and maintain data systems and databases, including troubleshooting coding errors and resolving other data-related issues.
• Manage the complete lifecycle of data generation, translating data into critical and coherent information that effectively communicates trends, patterns, and predictions to executive leadership.
• Support system testing and evaluation activities, including onsite acceptance testing, to validate and enhance models and algorithms.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• Candidates should possess a strong analytical mind, meticulous attention to detail when working with large datasets, and a natural inclination for problem-solving.
• The ability to generate comprehensive technical writings, including queries, reports, and presentations, is essential.
• Proficiency in at least one statistical programming language, preferably Python, is required, along with a solid understanding of statistics and machine learning techniques.
• Experience with one of the leading visualization tools, preferably Qlik, or other relevant analytic tools, is necessary.
• Practical experience with statistical packages such as SQL, XML, and Javascript, coupled with the ability to learn new tools for data analysis and report generation, is considered an advantage.
• The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with various business and functional groups.
